Climate Governance Conference, 15th June 2010, Berlin

Climate change poses serious governance challenges to global and national communities: new and stringent regulatory frameworks, laws, policies and reforms are needed to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, introduce law carbon development pathways and support the important social, economic, and legal transitions to address climate change. The legitimacy and effectiveness of such climate change response actions rely heavily on the transparency, accountability and public participation of these processes - on their good governance.

Statistical Information Systems

Better figures for a better life
Sustainable policies are built on reliable sources of information. In developing countries and transition states, however, there is often a lack of the expertise needed to gather statistical information efficiently and put it into a form in which it can be used to make well-founded, forward-looking political and economic decisions. Within the framework of capacity building, it is thus an important goal of InWEnt to build statistical competencies and capacities in our partner countries.
